There are new trends that hit the runway each year and then the next year is usually a mix of everything from last year, but some trends stand out. Take a look at what top designers were wearing in 2022 to see what will dominate the fashion world next.
It’s been just over two years since Paris was overrun by rioters protesting President Macron’s climate change decision to unload nuclear power plants. Now several countries are embracing smaller-scale renewable energy sources and France has announced plans for its own carbon tax in 2019. A carbon tax will hopefully push companies to adapt greener energy sources.
In 2022, however, the fashion world is dominated by new brands trying out different ideas. Some things remain the same with a few new twists on old trends. Summer dresses are still in style, but instead of pairing them with jewelry or belts, designers are using bold necklines and sheer fabrics for a risque look.
“I think that it’s time we take sustainable clothing seriously. Clothes and fashion are an integral part of the cycle of our lives, so it’s just as important that they’re sustainable as everything else we use. ” – Annette Lee, designer
This summer you’ll see more ruffles, lace and floral embroidery on shirts and shorts. On the other hand, you’ll see less going on for pants. Jean designers are ditching elastic waists and putting buttons on jeans instead to create a more refined look.
“I’m a big fan of the new looks. When I heard that people were moving away from a more casual look to something more refined, I knew I had to get in on it early.” – Nathan K.
If you’re looking for a bold new fashion statement but only have so much money to spend, then look no further. Shoppers will be happy to hear that fast fashion is now gone and sustainable fabrics are making a comeback.
